I Have A (Justified) Dream.....By JOHN CASSIDY I was in Memphis in 1997 for Elvis 20th. I told a Black Friend of mine how the Elvis song If I Can Dream was based on Dr Kings I Have A Dream speech.She said not a lot a Black Memphians knew that. Just by chance, the following year (1998),was the 30th Anniversary of Dr. Kings Murder in Memphis and lots of commemorations were planned. She asked me, if she was to organise a tour of the Black Venues would I come back the following year, to preform around, sing If I Can Dream and tell my story. She thought a lot of Black people would see Elvis in a more favourable light if this happened. I, of course said Id be thrilled and honoured. I was inspired to write this song I Have A (Justified) Dream by my humbling experiences of Memphis 98 and the amazing reception I received from The Black Community. This is my FIRST ORIGINAL song on JCI, so go easy on me..and we both hope you enjoy. As always you know what to do, if you LIKE what you hear and see then why not LIKE OUR PAGE.... :) :)
