I Have Seen. Duane McClung November, 19, 2013 I have seen the shining Mountains, They rise and soar so high, Their lofty craggy peaks pierce the clouds, And try to reach the sky. I have seen the morning’s sun, Light the Mountain tops capped with snow, The sun’s early morning light, Gives it a warm and golden glow. I have seen the Redwood Forests, And the majesty of the Ponderosa Pine, I have seen Groves of Aspen, That cloak the Mountains sides. I have seen the Mountain streams, Given birth by the high up melting snow, Rushing down the mountains sides, To join the rivers far below. I have seen the mighty rivers, That flow always to the sea. Sometimes so turbulent over rapids. Sometimes so slow and so serene. I have seen the mighty canyons, That are carved into the land. Carved by the rushing rivers, And by God’s mighty hand. I have seen those canyon walls, Painted in reds and blues and greens. Painted in the warm light of the setting sun, I know only God can paint such a beautiful scene. I have seen the mighty oceans, And the waves that kiss the shore, And the waves that crash on rocky, craggy cliffs, Waves that are driven by some terrible and far off storm. I have crossed those wide oceans, To foreign and far off lands. I have seen the their scenic wonders. Of Mountains, fields and streams. God did us proud with the gifts that He gave. For the lands I have seen, None can compare, To this land of yours and of mine, The good old U.S.A. There is so much more I could write and I shall as I give it thought and ponder all the things I have seen in this grand and wondrous land of ours. How to tell of the wonders and cause it to somehow have a structure that might somewhat poetic. I know Im not a poet nor a very good writer but I do love this land and I love the God that made it for you and for me. And I love my Family and Friends and I love to share with them the thoughts that play in my mind. And may God Bless the U.S.A. and may He Bless each of you each and every day.
