I KNOW WHO I AM I am a girl and I’m powerful I know my worth and I preserve it I carry myself with dignity and pride I have high standards and I keep them I don’t let the status quo hold me bound I don’t fall for every trend I don’t expect to reap where I didn’t sow I don’t see myself as a loser I have big dreams and I live passionately I set goals and pursue them tirelessly After all, I’m not just a girl I’m a change-agent, a role model I don’t permit negative influences I don’t mingle with never-do-wells I don’t disrespect myself before others To win their favour or feel among I learn, I observe, I create I teach, I nurture, I inspire I keep my eyes focused every time On my purpose and my future I work hard, I can’t do runs I can’t allow mere men in my temple I was born to be a queen I can only be had by a king I walk my street with dignity All the boys have nothing on me I speak wisdom with confidence All the men respect my opinion I have found the secret to self-worth I have learnt from the past generation I now know who I truly am I now know what stuff I’m made of I now know that life is a choice And my background doesn’t matter All that matter is who I choose to be And the future I choose to see I choose dignity, I choose chastity I choose bravery, I choose virginity I choose honor, I choose morality I choose wisdom, I choose spirituality I know who I am as a girl I don’t compromise my standards I don’t trade what is between my legs I’m not an object of men’s pleasure I stand for truth and for purpose I stand for beauty and creativity I live for impact and humanity I have power for I KNOW WHO I AM.
