I Know it has been a while since my last post but I am back! Despite the changing season, Back to the wild has been as busy as ever! This week, we have many new patients that are in Critical need of help. In the photos below you will see a great black-backed gun and a lake Erie water snake. The guee came to us with an old injury that has already healed the wrong way. Sadly we may not be able to fix it. However, we CAN fix the emaciation and, with a lot of care and hard work, he may become a program animal. The snake was accidentally struck with a weed-Wacker and lost his tail. If we can get the infection taken care of and nurse him back to health, this scaly patient may very well be back to eating mice by next spring!
