I LOVE Katchy Sdao! Her book Plenty in life is free was excellent. Next time she does a seminar in the UK I am THERE! :D Been thinking about the non-verbal or just different cues that Boo has for useful behaviours... Were working on the doorbell = go to your bed thing. Theres also: picking up food bowl = go to your bed opening door (to yard/crate if she is inside, etc) = sit/stay until release (meeting her at the yard gate if she is in the yard and I am arriving home) when I touch the gate latch = back up we are sitting at the table eating = down/stay putting down a mat anywhere = down/stay on the mat ... when you think about it there are loads! Purposefully taught or not! Do your dogs have any interesting or useful non-verbal cues that they know open up a window of opportunity to perform a corresponding behaviour and earn a reward?
