I Love You By Scott and Kathy Evans, 10/2/2014 Greetings In Jesus Name! John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Just the word love makes a very powerful statement! An act of love is just as powerful! I got to thinking about how sometimes this term I love you can easily lose its power! For myself when I share these words with someone I also hope they are able to see action behind them. The Word mentions love in such a way that there is no greater love than the kind of love that a person would lay his or her life down for a friend. I would challenge us to take it to another level. Can I ask this, would you or I do the same or more for a family member, say a son, daughter, mother, dad, sister, brother and the list could go on as far as family? Now there are natural personalities out there who would in a minute do so without even thinking. It just seems natural to return an I love you with the same. Granted Im sure that it is greatly appreciated. The little question remains. Do I Really? Now that goes both ways. I believe when one says or shows an act of love it must be genuine and I believe the POWER of LOVE can do great and marvelous things! We sometimes hear of a lady/mother lifting the weight of a vehicle off of her child, now normally this wouldnt be possible as even a strong man couldnt do the same. Love causes us to some strange and abnormal things at times because passion is involved, another very strong trait and emotion. We must remember it was He who Died on the Cross for our Sins. Now is there any greater love than this? In thinking of our Church Body or Church Family how can we do any other than show the very same love to our Brothers and Sisters in Christ? Love can cause one to do or say desperate things. Yet it must be harmless as He maintains we can not cause hurt to one another but to uplift and carry one another. Here is one example of Gods Love; Christianity in Christian belief, the mercy, grace, and charity shown by God to humanity. One other example in the form of a verb; transitive verb to feel and show kindness and charity to somebody Today I challenge us to invest ourselves and think about this small but powerful phrase I Love You. There is a wonderful spiritual and natural feeling within each of us if we know that phrase is Genuine and in return that same feeling should be there within us; our hearts and souls when we share these words with another! Try it today and practice it always as this is pleasing to Him! And your rewards will be great as you invest yourself into another. Love grows and bonds become much stronger as time moves along and as we practice it! If our love is to be so strong that we are to lay our lives down for a friend how much stronger should it be for our brothers and sisters in Christ not even to mention our family. It does bring one to ponder a bit. I challenge you and me to weigh these words carefully because we will be held accountable for them! Saying them and not following through or backing them with action can be destructive if not down right deadly. A mans word is his bond. Numbers 30:2 If a man vow a vow unto the LORD, or swear an oath to bind his soul with a bond; he shall not break his word, he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth. Ill throw this one in for free. Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: I hope you feel my heart today and I challenge you to just stop and think a bit about what you/me are putting out there when we use this phrase and really what the cost of it is. Can you/me afford it? Are we willing to act on it? God Bless Your Day Today I truly love yall and want to meet those of you Ive never met before on this side of Heaven I sure want to meet you over Yonder! Love one another as you love yourself/myself. Much Love and Prayers! Blessings in Jesus Name! Scott and Kathy Evans
