I MADE IT!!! I did it for all of us suffering this horrid disease. For my Scleroderma friends whove passed away. I did it to teach others to be grateful about their health and that things in life could always be worse. But most of all I did it for me. Its a crazy feeling to know that you have a disease that 80% of people have no clue what it is. We dont deserve that! With Scleroderma, one can go through more trials in one week, than someone might in their entire life. Dependent on oxygen or a feeding tube, losing the use of their hands completely because they ache SO BAD from the skin tightening over the joints, suffering from random open wounds that makes showering miserable. Scleroderma knows no age, its not just a disease older people get.Woman are 4 times more likely than men to get it, with African Americans having a higher mortality rate. And thats just the tip of the iceberg. But guess what? Life goes on. We pick our butts up and continue through each day with our best foot forward, despite whatever obstacle TRIES to get in our way. WE define tough. I love you Scleroderma family, supporters, and caregivers!
