I MISS *watching you lick the salt off your chips& the funny little expressions on your face. I MISS *your beautiful painted, spotted toenails. I MISS *your high bouncy ponytail that smelled so good. I MISS *your smile that warmed my heart and the way you would throw your head back when you laughed and smiled. I MISS *talking to you and listening to you. I MISS *your little sniffer. You could smell when I opened a bag of mini Reese cups from across the room. They were our favorite! I MISS *the way you knew every word to your favorite books. I MISS *learning braille with you. I MISS *reading to you, and you reading to me. I MISS *holding you, rocking you, and singing to you. I MISS *your stubbornness and sassiness. I MISS *counting the sips of water that you drank, and the number of pizza bites that you needed to eat. I MISS *holding your tiny hand in mine. I MISS *the way you would begin a story with well or okay. I MISS *watching you tap that cane walking down that hall. I MISS *watching &listening to you sing if Youre Happy and you Know it I MISS * greeting you every morning at our classroom door with our kiss up high and our kiss down low. I MISS *YOU! Everyday! It has been a tough year Lilly Belle. I dont think I have eaten a mini Reese cup since you have been gone. But, I will one day when I can. I still find games in the room labeled in braille. Games modified just for you. I have not removed all the braille. But, I will one day when I can. When I am somewhere and I see braille, I still rub my fingers across trying to read the words. I have not practiced my braille since you have been gone. But, I will one day when I can. I have only been to Childrens Hospital once since you have been gone, and that was to attend a service for you. But, I will volunteer there one day when I can. I have not held you, kissed you, or snuggled with you in a year. But, I will one day when I can. You made it to Heaven first. This time you wait for me at the door.
