I PAID A BRIBE Paid Rs 550 Paid Rs. 550 for Traffic(signal) Violence to the kolkata police Police | Traffic Violations Reported on August 29, 2013 from Kolkata, West Bengal This is Prasanta Kr. Das, a salesman by profession. Last 19.08.2013 morning when I went for market for my job purpose. I make a mistake. I cross a signal with my bike on yellow light due to heavy rain. after my crossing the signal a kolkata traffic police named PRABIR PRAMANIK stop my bike and want to see my licence. I told him several times that I make this mistake (cross the crossing with yellow light) due to heavy rain and i give him my licence and request him to make and spot fine challan against my signal violence. but Mr Prabir Pramanik told me that spot fine is not allowed for bike and allso told me to sign in her report. I asked him that what is the punishment for this signal violence, then he told me that this is a minor violence told me to sign his form and advice me that come on Shyambazar Traffic guard office after 1 week to collect my licence with deposit a normal charge. As per his suggestion I Visit the Shyambazar Traffic Guard office on 26.08.2013 and when i give my challan to the counter for paid the fees then the counter person told that The Police Charged me 184 MV Act with dangerous driving and my charges for that is Rs. 400 150 = Rs 550. after knowing that I feel strange and shocked. I described all with the counter person and after hearing all, the counter person told me that every traffic police have a minimum target for every month. for that reason Mr. Prabir Pramanik make my signal violence into a Dangerous Driving violence . Now Sir my complaint is that .. 1. is this a proper procedure for the police to behave with simple man ? 2. Can traffic police make or replace any charges to the simple man like me to fulfill there own target. 3. in what reason they take Rs. 550 when 184 MV Act charges Rs. 400 in traffic law? 4. do i have any option complaint against this kind of officers when i am a simple man come a sales man to take my family responsibilities. 5.
