I SAY A BIG NO TO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AUTONOMY The problem with us as a nation is that we allow evil and bad behaviour to consolidate before we start shouting. Why must local government areas be allocated funds from the consolidation/federation account? Is the local government a federating unit of the country? What was the practice during the first republic when we had proper federalism? My position is that all the distributable revenues of the country should be shared between the states and federal government. The states can then take care of the local government areas. Finally, the federal government has no business creating local government areas.
