I SHARE TO SAVE PERSIA! ****UPDATE****** Update from All Species Kinship: We returned to her surgeon today, and was it ever timely. As somewhat anticipated, some of her skin sloughed off on the lower mandible and one portion did separate, creating this pie shape indentation. Persia was put under sedation so that her oral area could be cleaned, and the wounds better assessed. After doing so, her surgeon determined that we would delay doing any more reconstruction for now, and instead wait for more granulation tissue to form, filling in this area. We are keeping an attentive eye on it, and should it appear to not be moving in the direction we want it to, we will return sooner, to the surgeon. For now, we have another appointment next week. Persia remains upbeat and comfortable. Pain management and inflammation are no longer an issue and she remains only on antibiotics. They still need our help raising the remaining balance of funds needed to pay off her current vet bill ($3,719) a copy you can view on her page, and the funds needed to continue her care.
