I WILL COME UP WITH MARSHALL PLAN FOR INSURGENCY RAVAGED AREAS -- Kwankwaso Gov. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano State and leading APC Presidential Aspirant, disclosed that if he becomes President of Nigeria sufficient arrangement will be made to put in place a Marshall Plan for the rehabilitation of areas affected by insurgency. He added that government is established for the security, welfare and happiness of the people. According to him it is on public record that we have done and still doing in Kano State to assist victims of insurgency cannot be marched by any individual, groups or government and this indicates that change is possible. He then has expressed sadness over the continuous deterioration of security situation particularly in the Northeastern part of the country despite the imposition of Emergency Rule by the FederalGovernment especially with gruesome massacre of 49 student in Potiskum, Yobe, State. While symphasizing with government and people of Yobe State over the unfortunate incident he also called for a minute silence in hon our of those that lost their lives. The governor who stated this during the formal opening of his National Presidential Campaign Office in Abuja, today, Tuesday, called on President Goodluck Jonathan to wake up to his responsibility and ensure the security of lives and property of Nigerians wherever they are. Gov. Kwankwaso who is also a leading APC Presidential Aspirant said if he becomes the President of Nigeria his priority will be restoring peace and security in every corner of the country adding that the APC is unreservedly committed to protecting and securing lives and properties of all Nigerians. It is widespread belief among Nigerians that the present PDP Administration is demonstrating inadequate commitment and sincerity in the fight against insurgency, adding that we believe that a different approach is required. In this regard the Presidential Aspirant disclosed that the APC is committed to ensuring that our military are better mobilized, adequately equipped, specially motivated and professionally fine-tuned. Another area he promised to pay attention if elected is in the fight against corruption. He said APC government under his leadership will fatally attack the cankerworm of corruption that has eaten deep into the fabric of our system. He further pointed out that corruption as we all know is anti-development; corruption devalues human conscious; it mortgages our future for a transient present and proliferates network syndrome. Therefore an APC Federal Government in 2015 will do a surgical and radical review of the anti-corruption agencies, encourage and support whistle-blowing, create special courts to try cases of corruption and rebuild our value system at all levels of human organisations.
