I Woke Up in America This Morning The cat woke me up this morning at 4:32 A.M., 5:58 A.M., and finally 7:30 A.M. She can be a nuisance wanting to be fed at untimely times. Each time I woke up, I didnt wake up in fear of my life. I didnt wake up in Syria or Iraq with ISIS on my tail, nor in NIgeria or Sudan. I didnt wake up in Guatemala or Mexico wondering how many more days it would take for me to make it to the Texas border...I woke up in America this morning. I started the coffee and let the garage door up so I could retrieve my newspaper from the driveway. My new Betsy Ross flag was gently waving from my flagpole in the front yard. After logging onto my computer, I posted another tale from my childhood...I woke up in America today just as I did when I was a kid. Ive read my paper, worked the puzzles, and watched some of the news. My first cup of coffee was good as was my daily bagle. My appetite has been satisfied. Many people in the world woke up hungry this morning...I woke up in America this morning with food on the table. Before I go outside to plant a couple of Dogwood trees, I will have my second cup of coffee. I will read my daily devotionals without the fear of some Islamic militant threatening my life. Sharia law and communist oppression will not affect me today...I woke up in America this morning free to worship as I please. We have some serioius problems in this country that need addressing to ensure that future generations have the same opportunities as I have had. Still, there is no other country on earth like mine...I woke up in the best situation possible on this earth this morning...I woke up in America. Only five percent of the worlds citizens woke up in America this morning. How blessed I am, Lord for this priviledge. I am truly grateful. Happy Independence day, pilgrims and may God continue to bless America!
