I absolutely LOVE breastfeeding!! I actually heard from a family member before they knew I was planning on breastfeeding as long as Bay wants to, that the lady who was on the magazine cover actually said she LIKES to breastfeed her child, how weird. well, is it weird when parents say they enjoy the times they get to rock their baby to sleep? Or is it weird when a parent says they enjoy their bottle feeding time with their baby, they enjoy being able to feed their child in love and gaze into their eyes? Breastfeeding is the best of all pats of parenting rolled into one. Through breastfeeding, mothers get to give nutrients, comfort, love, affection, and time to their child. All of that right there is reason enough for any woman to enjoy breastfeeding, but then you add in the hormones that are released when breastfeeding, that not only is releasing that love hormone but it makes you feel happy and connected to your baby. Well duh, of course its enjoyable. I am not ashamed or embarrassed to say that I am still nursing my almost 2 year old and I LOVE it :) :) Why are we, as a culture, creeped out by the idea of a woman wholeheartedly enjoying breastfeeding? Were uncomfortable at the suggestion that a woman might exercise such autonomy over her body that she breastfeeds beyond infancy and might actually LIKE DOING SO.
