I admit, getting up this morning was harder than I expected but boy am I glad I did. After a rocky start where I managed to project a bowl of fruit loops across the room at breakfast(way to make a good impression lol) the day quickly improved when I headed outside and saw sunshine, good sign. I decided to hit the state park first and ran headlong into an adorable squirrel wandering along right next to me, they are seriously the most adorable things ever!!! Then it was a day of exploration, I did the observation tower, saw the American falls, went to the discovery centre and took the trolley across to goat island. Throughout the day it alternated between sunshine and clouds but I cant say which I preferred. The sun definitely brightened things up but there is something so incredibly beautiful about the cold, stark and wintry landscape. All I do know is that i am definitely blessed, as the cutie trolley driver I befriended told me that access to Luna Island and Terrapin point, 2 of the best viewing spots in the park, were open today for the first time all season because of the good weather, so I feel like someone is looking after me for sure:) I have had an amazing day seeing the sights and also just chatting to and meeting randoms, like a beautiful couple I met at the tram stop from Wyoming who informed me when I complained about the cold that when they left home it was about 0 degrees farenheit (prob about -18 degrees Celsius or even colder), I didnt complain again lol. I checked out the Niagara historical wax museum, which was kinda creepy. Some of the exhibits moved and I have to say I nearly fainted the first time it happened!!! I was so engrossed in my travels that it was nearly 3pm before I remembered to eat but when I did I got to try my first real New York state pizza, so good and its definitely got me even more excited for NYC. Now I have moved into my B&B the red coach inn for the next 2 nights, I swear this place is so quaint walking in the door of my room I felt I had fallen into a Jane Austen novel, I searched the cupboards for Mr Darcy but no luck:( I am currently watching the American Rapids out of my window but I think I will take my complimentary cheese platter and free bottle of champagne into my jacuzzi for a rest before dinner, bye for now.
