I adopted Sasha 9 years ago. No idea how old she was then but no one considered her aged. Deemed too feral for home adoption and looking for farm placement by the Greene county SPCA i was offered a freebie, 2 for 1 already spayed and utd on shots. Oh sure. Fine. Ill take her. Dont blame me when she runs away. I had actually gone to adopt another cat I fell in love with on a petsmart rescue day (named sugar later changed to mowser then mouser) and got suckered in to this shy, occasionally pissy (dear lord don t pick her up if you like your eyeballs) kitty with a grudge on her shoulder they knew would be just perfect in a barn home. Locked her in the tack room so shed learn home base, messed with her constantly and fed her wet canned food. Feral shmeral. 7 days later she was putty in my lap. Shell decapitate any rodent or bird and can balance on a door top. Shes too dignified to play with a laser or any other toy we bought her for that matter but shell curl at my feet and radiate the bed with her warmth. I wonder if she misses being outside. The intention has been to establish a new home base then, assuming her and tippy have an understanding shed be indoor outdoor farm cat at my home farm. Shes been here a day. Shes taken up residence in the master bedroom and if I want a spot on the bed I need to move her over. I thought shed be bored and miserable but she seems content. Her purring is non stop. Ben is as happy as Ive seen him lately and admittedly Im being won over. Ive always liked her. No better rodent control was ever invented then one Sasha kitty on the prowl. I hope she tolerates us and our small uninteresting home because I think I found me a house cat. Un-adoptable they said. People are so silly. I wonder how many cool animals are passed over because of labels. Lucky me.
