I agree ... however to tweak a little I prefer to listen to understand and then respond It has the same thoughtful delay as the author writes of but the step of delay is more mindful and therefore deliberate. Most people listen to respond (give an answer without thinking thoughtfully enough) but to listen to understand (like a doctor) you are putting the other persons thoughts and comments foremost in your mind. Each man should have these 4 qualities; and definitely each husband, boyfriend or Dad. This is what should be written about every Fathers Day. Every man should read and reflect and strive as a minimum these 4 traits. I have never seen these qualities written out like this so plainly but appreciate being thought of as having them.
