I agree that the American people deserve the truth about what happened to those four Americans killed by radical Islamic terrorists in Benghazi two years ago. It is imperative that the American citizenry be truthfully informed exactly who was the highest person of authority in the Obama Administration who gave that deadly “stand down order.” Was it President and Commander in Chief of the U. S. Armed Forces Barack Hussein Obama, himself? Or, was it someone else in Obama’s administration instructed by the President to do so? In other words, exactly by whom was the stand down order issued and upon whose authority did that person do so? “BREAKING: Benghazi Security Team Breaks Silence, Confirms There WAS a Stand-Down Order” ” As the two-year anniversary of the terror attacks on Benghazi approaches, the Obama administration would no doubt prefer that Americans forget about that story–and it has certainly given the country other things to think about. For example, there are tens of thousands of illegal immigrants that have come across the nation’s porous southern border in the past year due to President Obama’s lax immigration policies. There is the threat of a new Cold War–or worse–as Russia steps up its imperialistic ambitions in the face of an obviously weakened America. And, of course, there is the threat of terrorism against the American homeland at the hands of the barbaric Islamic State of Iraq and Syria. But the story of the September 11, 2012 terror attacks against a U.S. diplomatic mission and nearby CIA annex that killed four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, hasn’t just gone away, no matter how much this president and his senior advisers might want it to. Now, on the occasion of next week’s release of 13 Hours: The Inside Account of What Really Happened in Benghazi, Fox News is airing a special that includes interviews with the authors of that book: Kris (“Tanto”) Paronto, Mark (“Oz”) Geist, and John (“Tig”) Tiegen, three security contractors who were on the ground in Benghazi that night. The team says that they were ready to go within five minutes of being told about the attack, but were delayed by “Bob,” the ranking CIA officer present. State Department officials were calling for help from the security team, but Bob’s orders were, “Stand down, you need to wait,” according to Tiegen. These reports directly contradict previous information, including that released by Republicans on the House Intelligence Committee, that have all insisted no “stand down” order was given. Nonetheless, the three insist that’s what happened on the ground in Libya that night, and that if they hadn’t been delayed, they may very well have been able to save four American lives. iven the wide disparity among the many accounts of the events of that night, Americans should be particularly grateful that they have a former prosecutor like Trey Gowdy leading the House investigation into the incident and its aftermath. He is certainly accustomed to sorting through conflicting eye-witness testimony–as any prosecutor must be–to uncover the truth. And the truth must be uncovered. The American people deserve no less, and neither do the four Americans killed overseas that night in service to their country.
