I agree with The Greens on this: any decision about military intervention should not be in the hands of one person (pretty sure that would be a mark of a dictatorship?), but a parliamentary decision. Why would Abbott care any more about the expendability of soldiers than he does the expendability of the unemployed, poor, aged, youth, indigenous, single parents, mental health clients, refugees, students, etc? Who will he be taking advice from? His mates Rupert and Gina, stand to make billions from conflict - nothing sells airtime and ore better than war.
