I agree with the opposition MP..... The Papua New Guinea opposition leader, Belden Namah, has strongly criticised the latest plan by Australia to resettle its asylum seekers in PNG. A deal was signed last week by the two countries’ prime ministers, Peter O’Neill and Kevin Rudd. Mr Namah says it is an agreement between two madmen, adding that the two have no regard for UN conventions. He says Mr O’Neill is making decisions like a chicken with no head. Mr Namah has called for the agreement to be debated in parliament. He says PNG has bigger problems than refugee processing and should not make money from asylum seekers. Mr O’Neill has said the scheme will boost the national economy, but Mr Namah says the problem in PNG is not money, but bad financial management and corruption.
