I agree with this article whole heartedly. At a time when there are fracking corporations poisoning and depleting fresh water and states plagued with droughts, this sends a message to the world that Americans want to see women in ice cold wet T-shirts to deflect from something altruistic. Although the intentions seem nice, its not doing a service to those who will spend the remainder if their lives with a disease such as this. A moment of shock and cold is silly in comparison. Its almost insulting. Just give the money. If you can, give up the Ego for a moment on how you suffered through a flash bucket of cold water with the painful ice cubes poured over your heads, teflect for another 30 seconds how the rest of the world thinks of a bunch of overweight Americans look to those who are being bombed nonstop with $100,000 missiles that could have rebuilt communities and or been spent on a finding a cure for ALS. Then for another 30 seconds calculate just how many missiles were fired. Weve spent more than the original. $225 million dollars in aide to contribute to crimes against humanity. With our tax dollars. The remaining people in Gaza have no water. They have no ice machines. Why not dump buckets on them, and say let them eat cake? Seems very insensitive and very foolish to be proud of this ice bucket challenge...although Im sure someone has nice screen shots of women dumping ice cold water on their perky wet T-Shirts. Just an observation.
