I almost killed a Lizard now, a lil baby, that too. While trying to search for some stuff in my room, a baby lizard, hid deftly behind a plank of wood. I yanked the wood out, without knowing of its presence, when it jumped and scared the shit out of me. Instinctively, (human I am) I hit it with whatever I had in my hand and it lay there immobile. As I did, a sudden surge of guilt filled me up from within and following it was a strange sense of compassion which took its place consecutively. Without a trace of fear or apprehension, (I stay away from reptiles of all kind), I took my hand near it and it climbed ever so slowly and gently, as if it knew, it was being offered help. As it lay there, in my bare hands, I could feel its soft supple under skin and a warmth only a living being could exude. I lovingly looked in to its small bulging eyes and whispered silently, I am sorry and placed it outside my kitchen balcony. It slowly got up, fully revived and went its way into oblivion. ~ Fear restrains love from expressing itself; and love when fully expressed becomes compassion.
