I already did a commentary on this case on another page but Ill go ahead. 1) Primary officer needs remedial training on wrist locks, etc. on the mom and how to properly escalate force when alone even if they are are one woman and her kids. Shouldve tazered the mom & son, she for actively resisting arrest and him for assault and battery against the officer. 2) Last back-up officer did not have full assessment and was not justified to shoot at a moving vehicle that was not an imminent threat to other officers or the public. Not even at tires, few departments allow for such actions but only when saving kids from say a kidnapper/murderer, not in this case. This was deadly force that goes against Tennessee v. Gardner (1984) which restricted law enforcement deadly force use versus fleeing felons. This will likely end up with a DoJ investigation due to who is in the White House and the Attorney General. I expect a 42 USC 1983 lawsuit against the officers and department.
