I also had to answer the single email I received from an Ed Day supporter.....Ed Day may think he has what the people want figured out, and we all want lower taxes but not at the expense of needed services and public safety.... Thank you for your note. I have never felt more right about an issue than I did about changing Ed Days shortsighted and heartless budget. It would have destroyed the fabric of our County in the name of scoring political points. Many have been misguided into thinking his budget would have any real impact on your tax bill. The entire County Tax is less than $100 per month on average. Look at your January Tax bill and check the County line. His cuts amounted to a maximum savings of $8 per month, sorry but I will not decimate the services provided to our people and animals for $8. Nor will I cut items in the budget which will shift taxes to the Town as his budget certainly would have. Tell CE Day to find a different way. Come and learn about budgeting and all the services the Sheriff and our agencies provide and then make an informed decision. Jay Hood PS: The vote was 15-2 (including 4 of 5 Republicans) in favor of our budget and we are all wrong? All 5 supervisors, every single Police Chief and many Town Council members are wrong? Somehow Ed Day knows better than all of us? I think not....
