I always ask everyone this question and i always get into a big argument and debate about this topic... soo I wanna hear what everyone thinks ... Who do you think did a better performance, Heath Ledger in the dark knight or Christian Bale in the fighter ...? I say christian bale , and I know what your thinkin , so let me explain ... theres no denying the fact that heath ledger was unbelievable in the dark knight , he deserved every single fan and award he got for that performance. I loved it. But heres how I think about it, someone comes up to heath ledger and says okay, your playing the joker in the next batman movie. Okay, so he goes and locks hisself away in a hotel for a month and he creates his own joker. But, my point that im trying to make is that, the joker is already a character, if your playing the joker in a batman movie, you have alot of stuff to study from. you have comic books, cartoons, jack nicolsons joker, etc.... but my point is you have tons of stuff to study from and then make it your own, exactly what heath ledger did. But i still give him all the credit because he still did it unreal. But then theres christian bale. Someone comes up to him and says your playin a drug addict in the movie the fighter. Now what does he do? of course he could go meet and talk to people who use to be drug addicts or talk to people who are drug addicts and get to learn their ways and shit like that , but thats it ...theres nothing really else you can do , you just have to go infront of the camera and create your own character, and thats why I pick christian bale ...
