I always feel weird that these kind of documentary always describe cosplayers (and all other hobbyists) as a bunch of social inept that got bullied/not confident in themselves/etc etc so they choose cosplay (or whatever else) as a way of escaping the reality. Like, seriously? The majority of my friends who cosplay do so simply because they like it. I did cosplay once just because i like the character and I think the costume look pretty. Not because im socially awkward or cannot interact with normal people or whatever. We still have school, work, and have perfectly fine relationship with people around. I do think its nice that those hobbies help some people get out from their shells, but really, thats not the majority of the cases. Im pretty sure most people do those things because its fun, and look nice (everyone loves to be pretty right). So please, stop depict us like weirdos who are completely failure in life =.=
