I always get the Athleta magazine in the mail and flip through the pages with angst wishing I could just own every piece of adorable clothing the models wear and then I go outside and play and am quickly reminded of why my shopping of choice is The Thrift Store and TJMaxx...I ruin clothing. I sit in the mud, I wade through the rivers, if there is a frog, turtle or salamander crossing my path you better believe Ill be interacting with it...then Ill wipe my germy hands on my shirt, I put dirty rocks in my pockets and kneel in the sand. At the end of the day, I rip off my dirty, messy, holy clothes and recognize that I am still me...pretty, expensive clothing or hand-me-overs/downs, it doesnt matter, whats underneath shines bright and I never had to spend $80 on a pair of leggings that tomorrow Id be sad about ruining. Plus, when I am wearing the nicer leggings...I shy away from adventure so I dont ruin the clothing...and that just seems backwards...
