I always try and keep DJ Clue in the back of my mind when speaking - TopicsExpress

I always try and keep DJ Clue in the back of my mind when speaking about hip-hop, specifically this track: youtube/watch?v=ZYZvMiITyYw I remember back to when this came out and all the jocks/preps in high-school were eating it up, while all the true heads (such a silly concept) were eschewing it, citing the questionable credentials of Clue as a real DJ. Looking back on it, it helps to give me perspective when listening to current hip-hop. This is a song that actually aged well. Still gets people hyped, easy-to-sing chorus, a gang of features that are exciting and dont get lost in the cut, all-around a solid song. I participate in this activity on a subconscious level, when exposed to new hip-hop that initially rubs me the wrong way: I take a look at my attitude towards Ruff Ryders Anthem Remix from back in high-school. It lets me kind of shut a part of my brain off and just lose myself better in the music without getting caught up in whether or not its real or true.
