I always used to think that Konkan Railway staff were way better than their counterparts in other regional Indian Railways. Either I never had a bad experience or Konkan Railways is catching up with the rest. I was at Vasco station this afternoon, and lady at the ticket window was being extremely rude to customers and yelling at everyone who didnt have give her the exact amount of their fare. Apparently, she didnt have any change at all with her, but everyone else was expected to have it. When it was my turn to buy a platform ticket costing ₹5, I gave her the smallest note I had on me which was ₹10. She refused to give me a ticket because she apparently didnt have ₹5 to return. This after the fact that she had been taking money from people all day for tickets she was issuing. I finally ended up buying two tickets for ₹10, and giving my unused ticket to the person in the line behind me, because I didnt have the time to argue with her and miss the train I needed to meet before it left the station!
