I am 48 hours out from my cancer diagnosis. I have already come to terms with so many truths that Karen Newport shared with Kevin and me at dinner the other night. 1. I have the right to cry A LOT. 2. I have the right to be angry and no has the right to tell me I shouldnt be. I even have the right to beat things up, just not people. 3. I have the right to feel sorry for myself for a little bit and then I need to get busy and take care of this nasty cancer. 4. I have the right to shut people out of my life who arent supportive. I have experienced all of this in only 48 hours. Wow, what will happen in the next 6 to 12 months? I have always believed that which doesnt kill us only makes us stronger but sometimes everybody just needs someone to listen. Sorry if you think I am whining but Ive been through pneumonia, a broken leg, degenerative disc disease, 4 ruptured discs that cause neuropathy in my hands and feet., chronic arthritis, fibromyalgia, and now breast cancer. Thats just the last two years so I think a little whining is ok.
