I am 66 and glad I am. I write this because of the years now gone with the breeze. I was at the All Star game in 1964 at Shea. I brought a ticket for I think $ 8.00 and was able to walk all around Shea by the dugout before the game during BP. Watch infield drills and stand behind the visiting dugout during the introductions. For most of the game I stood behind and to the left of home plate right in front of the food stand. They did not have HR contest a red carpet walk in NYC a fan fest two days before the game no in 1964 the JUST PLAYED THE GAME. To go to that game in "64" I just walked up a brought one ticket I did not have to buy a series of tickets just to get to see the game. Take a look the cost of ticket behind home plate this year what you had to pay face value of the ticket or from Stub Hub. I do not recall what the costs of tickets behind home plate in 1964 were, but based on income in those days and the costs of those tickets vs. the average income today and what the cost of these tickets for the game today is way out of line. If you are going to the game you WILL NOT be permitted to go behind home plate to watch BP or go behind the dugout to watch the introductions UNLESS YOU HAVE A TICKET in that section. The game and the players are still fun and enjoyable for me to watch but fan friendly no. $$$ friendly, oh yea. Pay any where from $500.00 and up you then can be up close and personnel Just my rant
