I am J.J. OConnor (class 11-81) - the organizer of the Purple Heart Cruise - through my company Military Only Travel, LLC. I am looking for looking for eligible wounded warriors who may be interested in attending this cruise at NO cost to them, thanks to our donors and sponsors. The cruise is on board the Carnival Pride, departing the Port of Baltimore on Memorial Day, May 31st, 2015 for 7 days. My grandson Alex, was wounded January 2014 in Afghanistan, his grandmother and I followed his recovery at Walter Reed Medical Center for almost all of February until he completed most of his major surgeries and was stable. We promised to send him on a cruise when he healed properly. That February, we met so many more wounded heroes and their families that we thought about inviting them on the cruise, so we organized it and called it the Purple Heart Cruise. I requested sponsorships and donations from, friends, family, high school and college buddies, former squadron mates and ship mates, etc. and we got a decent response.
