I am Kelly Gerken, a certified SBD Doula and president and founder of Sufficient Grace Ministries for Women (and Families) Inc., and mother to Faith and Grace (twin daughters born still due to twin to twin transfusion syndrome), Thomas (received fatal diagnosis of Potters Syndrome, carried to term, lived six hours after his full term birth), and to two sons on earth, age 19 and 12. SGM offers perinatal hospice support, birth and bereavement services, remembrance photography, and a line of beautiful specially designed Dreams of You memory items for parents facing the loss of their babies through miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death, or the death of a young child. Our headquarters is located in NW Ohio, where we ship items to bereaved families all over the world each week, free of charge. We currently have branches of SGM throughout Ohio, one in the St. Louis area, Northern Michigan, and Kentucky. We send our support staff to the SBD training, and were so grateful that Heidi Faith has created such a comprehensive program for birth and bereavement doulas. With everything else weve taken on in our organization, it is a huge blessing to have Stillbirthday as a resource for our staff. I have had the privilege of walking with thousands of bereaved parents online since 2004. Since becoming an SGM/SBD Doula earlier this year, I have walked with 13 families in person to provide support at the time of their loss. It is an indescribable gift to be allowed to enter unto this sacred ground to walk with each family.
