I am a Church Service missionary at Welfare Square in the Transient Bishops Office. We serve people who are homeless - all ages, and from a great diversity of backgrounds and reasons for their current situations. On this past Thursday, during my shift, I spoke briefly with a young couple who had their newborn baby with them. The only roof over their heads, at this point in time, was a temporary motel room. They found some relief in a storehouse order for food and a Deseret Industries order for clothing. The genuine smiles on their young faces reflected that for right now their hearts were filled to overflowing with the love they have for each other and they new child. They were very thankful for the assistance that they were receiving from the LDS Church. I went home that evening worrying about their many tomorrows. What was to become of them? What is their future and that of their dear baby. I hope that, at this time of year, we can all take the time to pray for those in unfortunate circumstances. It is not for us to judge them. They are beloved children of God and they need His and our tender care.
