I am a Nigerian from Delta in the mid western part of the country and not the other way round.Maybe we need to start the re education of our collective history on the eve of the centennial celebrations before we are swallowed up in ethno tribal plumes.ethnicity and religious bias have done us the greatest havoc as a country, where my brother is measured by hamlets and religious togas and not the shared comon values of the pursuit of freedom justice happiness and contement.Lagos was the oddball in a country brewing with so much inequality oppression and underdevelopment, now it tethers on the brink of an ethnic crisis-the Igbos versus the Yorubas, no thanks to Gov. Peter Obi, Orji Kalu and offcourse the Devils advocate Femi Fani Kayode whose impassioned notes have spewed hailstorms from Idumota to Onitsha. The sad aspect is when the harvest comes, none of the aforementioned actors will bare the sickle or mourn the lost sheaves. Nigerias tragedy trail is laden with exagerrated knee jerk responses to primary issues. Gideon Akalaka was falsely accused of defecating on the pages of the Quaran and he was burnt together with his family in Kaduna and several hundreds massacred. The Igbos do not own Lagos and should be grateful and everyone is jumping on the bandwagon, for and against-the 2nd week of this media war heats up online, more vitriolic and the insults dance around the touchy subjects Ironsi Nzeogu Azikiwe Sarduana Ojukwu and the civil war.I daresay when it hits the streets, the marketplaces, it may no longer be at ease, where area boys, omo niles, and Ibo traders enjoy a cat and mouse relationship. for to before warned is to be foreharmed.are we not all Nigerians, have we forgotten the more painful aspects of living, NEPA Police Unemployment No Housing No Healthcare No Food No vision No future. This energy we put into this roforofo ethnic scuffles, why cant it be channeled towards a social revolution. If Lagos falls to the gods of ethnicity then i fear Nigeria is anathema, God forbid!
