I am a big admirer of this man, mainly because he stands as the most responsible celebrity of Bollywood more than anything else. Not that I completely agree with what he said here, but its still worth a share. I agree with what he says - First we have to imagine, then we can think of executing. Now ... Note what he says at the end - We need to give much more value to our writers, and to the CRAFT of writing His intentions are right when he says the line, but ask yourself - what is the CRAFT of writing ?? This is what an industry does to talent. They convert science into technology and art into craft, because industry needs results, they need output. The basics, the theories, and the imaginative reasoning, are therefore neglected. And I am afraid, this practical obsession and negligence of pure/theoretical/hypothetical understanding, reasoning and imagining, is the biggest problem of our generation.
