I am a firm believer that working out is good for low back pain. On Sunday I tweaked my low back moving my studio. Not my usual pain...rather...the spasm stop you in your tracks pain. Sunday night I could not turn over in bed without it spasming. I skipped the gym on Monday and Tuesday because it was too acute, but walked a lot. By Wednesday it still hurt pretty bad and would spasm if I moved the way I shouldnt. So I hit the gym Wednesday night substituting in a couple of moves where I thought I should. For example, instead of box jumps I did step ups. It was very ginger during the warm up and I was questioning my decision. But by the end I was feeling great! I then had two awesome clients after class, came home and iced. I woke up today feeling way better than yesterday. So if you have back pain, my advise is to keep moving! Staying sedentary only makes it seize up more. And get to the the gym and work on those glutes and core!
