I am a member of the American Federation of Musician Local here in Kansas City (34-627) ... kcfm34-627.org/ ... However, I dont see much benefit to union membership beyond it being a symbolic show of solidarity with what being union stood for at one time. The main AFM site (afm.org/why-join) lists reasons to join, but most of those are not good reasons for the typical musician not in NYC or LA doing contracted studio work or shows. Is anyone else a member? If so, why? If not, why? ... Thanks, Cb
