I am a simple man. I have a few questions concerning this ObamaCare fiasco. 1. How come we cant have portability of health insurance across state lines. If Blue Cross of Kalamazoo offers a better plan for me than Blue Cross of Maryland, why cant I have that? 2. How come there is no push for tort reform? You should see what Abbys uncle pays for liability insurance for his eye practice. (I know have some lawyer friends out there - Im looking at you!) 3. ObamaCare was pushed because it would give those +/- 15 million Americans who didnt have insurance affordable coverage. But now, it looks like 15 million Americans who purchase their coverage will have their plans cancelled. It is a no-sum gain. However, just wait until the employer mandate kicks in around 2014. 4. Why can t we have an a la carte insurance menu? I really dont feel the need to pay for coverage for pap smears, mammographies, or hysterectomies. Just give me options for deductibles, co-pays, out-of-pocket expenses, etc. 5. Since I dont have any pre-existing conditions, why lump me in with those people who do have them or people who are sick all the time? Isnt that what actuarial science is all about, the pooling of risk factors? I welcome smart, thoughtful responses.
