I am a survivor of the illegal Dog Meat Trade. Please email [email protected] to ADOPT me. I have never known such fear – I was taken away from my family and squashed into a small metal cage with many other dogs and taken away on a truck to cross the border. I am bigger than a normal sized dog and it hurt being in the metal cage with other dogs. Where were these people taking me? Why were there so many of us? I could hear the younger dogs crying with fear as we travelled through the night, the older dogs unable to cope with the stress and heat during the day. Many died as we drove towards the border – I will never forget how bad I felt as I could not do anything for them. I don’t know how long we were on this truck of hell but finally we stopped for what felt like a longer time than normal. I heard lots of shouting and felt cages moving underneath me. Why were we being taken off the truck? These people seemed different – they were looking at us like they cared and were checking if we were OK. We were taken to a big shelter built especially for dogs like us that were rescued from the dog meat trade. I have never seen so many dogs. My name is Katherine and I now know I am one of the lucky ones. If Soi Dog hadn’t saved us all we would be dead. Skinned alive and boiled for our meat. I am now living at a rescue shelter thousands of other dogs. While I am thankful to be here I would dearly like to find a forever home with a comfortable bed, nice food and a family to love me. I am about four years old and am a friendly female. Soi Dog want to help me find a forever home so if you have a place in your heart to adopt me please contact [email protected]. I have heard great things about the USA, Canada, the UK and Europe and am not fussy – I will like to live in any one of these places. My only request is that it is with a family who loves me.
