I am a very happy woman!!! Our goats and horses have a fresh load of hay. 200 bales with more to follow this coming week. Years ago, I thought of farming as a great self sufficiency practice. The longer we do this the more obvious it becomes how deeply dependent we are on those around us. Grateful appreciation goes out to our Amish neighbors for growing and baling this beautiful hay. Thanks also to them for helping set up our elevator and with unloading the first truckload. Special thanks to my wonderful husband Vince for hauling and unloading. Thanks also to Vince for his patience with my animal addictions and for not getting angry that the third load of hay burned out the water pump in his truck. Deep appreciation also goes out to our neighbor Bob who will tear apart said truck and replace the water pump. Three cheers to our son Ilya and his friend Micheal for their efforts at unloading and stacking. I cant think of a better way for future football players to get in shape . . . can you???? Maybe they should be thanking me LOL!!
