I am about as liberal as you can get, I am also something of a history buff and I am really getting sick of liberal media calling the far right/tea party types fascists. They are not. Historically Fascism has focused on a strong leader... they have no leader and are not interested in one. What these extremists are, are reactionaries, nihilists... anarchists even. In the long run they have no ideology, no structured belief. Instead they are selfish, self absorbed, self centered egotists with no values and no sense of responsibility to their community, to other people or to the nation at large. Its all about them.
