I am about to open a can of worms here. Im sure many are going to attack me over what Im about to say. Im sitting on a plane flying to Minnesota and looking at FB. Yes I know Im addicted, but while most christians are rejoicing on my newsfeed with the war cry repeal the health care act, my heart is heavy. Im going to be very transparent here. I have end stage kidney disease diabetic retinopathy, severe nerve damage and a host of other things there is not time to mention and because I am self employed IE full time itinerant ministry I had no access to health care. I didnt want anything for free I just wanted the same ability to purchase health care as most Americans. Thanks to the affordable care act I now have great coverage. My fear is now that may be taken away. My question to my brothers and sisters in Christ is what do you do with people like me? It seems that so many could care less we seem to have the attitude of thats your problem. But when I look at the New Testament the attitude was completely different. They had all things in common they took care of each other. Where is our compassion for those who are less fortunate than we? As a follower of Jesus how should we be towards each other. I guess though I love Jesus with my whole heart I am not a right wing fundamentalist who is pushing for America to be a theocracy. If you look at the history of this nation it didnt work. The puritans hanged people accused them of being witches while many I believe where probably just misunderstood believers. Lets seek the heart of God we may be surprised when we do that some of the things we thought where Gods heart are not. Lets simply love like Jesus and be the light in the darkness that He has commissioned us to be. Ill end with this. I love the church! Ive given my life to see her become the bride that Jesus deserves.
