I am amazed at how many friends share todays birthday with me. Somehow over the years we formed bonds through Romance Novels. Virginia Henley (always in the pink) and I have known each other since the start of the romance industry in 1980s. Cindy Walker (party girl sipping champagne in photo!) and Sondra Leeds have been working on the yearly RT Booklovers Convention for some 20 years. Trent Hart has survived two Booklovers Convention and works full time on convention planning at our Brooklyn headquarters. Aspiring writer Eve Saunders, western author Jane Archer, and Canadian author Karyn Monk have been part of our community for years. We keep good company. Other December 5ths include writers Joan Didian and Christina Rossetti; Walt Disney, George Armstrong Custer, and Otto Preminger!! December 4 was celebrated by novelist/ editor Faith V. Smith-- longtime reviewer and volunteer at the Booklovers Convention. Tomorrow, on Dec 6 -- THREE writing pals will celebrate: Helen Rich - Historical Romance author, Medallion Publisher, and the recipient of our first Romance Rescuers Award at Welcome Breakfast in Dallas. CJ Hollenbach -- over 20 years attending RT Booklovers Conventions as a cover model and a delightful guy. Author Gloria Carr Cope is leading Precon Sunday tour of Dallas old town where her ancestor was one of the original settlers. HAPPY BIRTHDAY fellow Sagittarians and may we all live to 120 with a sound mind and strong body!
