I am an Anabaptist Mennonite. However, I am concerned with how much the Anabaptist theological school of thought holds up the Sermon on the Mount and the parables of Christ as somehow superior to the rest of the Bible. Last time I checked, all Scripture was God-breathed. (I Tim 3:16) If Jesus is God (and He is), that means that Jesus spoke all Scripture. Wouldnt logic tell us to hold ALL Scripture in high regard, and not some parts as superior to others? Scripture should be interpreted as a whole unit, not 99% of it interpreted in the context of three chapters of Matthew. *gets off theological soapbox*
