I am an exempted employee. I will go to work and continue my days as scheduled. I will then get an IOU in my paycheck. "Essential" exempted service does NOT mean being paid. Yes, I will get paid before my furloughed counterparts if this is fixed. In most circumstances, furloughed employees will get paid back for their days off. At least I can say that at the end of the day, I made a fair wage for a days work (whenever the IOU will be collected).
