I am an organism of creation and the great chain of my experience becomes the fruitful discourse of my heart. Can you see that then I am not displeased with fire; in these extreme poles I am purified and strengthened and made glad to have known adversity. Why pray for leniency - why entreat the peaceful days for length and court the dispositions of overmuch ease. I am a vehicle not unlike yourself - with sinew and flesh and all the benefits of momentum. Shall we be encumbered by inaction, shall we find quick death in cowardice? Do you hear the thunder of time as boulders slip between the fine restrictions of glass and each monstrous grain withdraws the present into the past where it lays up like a heap of history. Let my days be numbered short, let the task be insurmountable, let few care to join me - the road long and barberous. I am not interested in thriving I am interested in declining brilliantly and splitting the night with a glow of suffering. Let my epitaph read there was life in this one and he spent it on beauty which was not easy and now he is a mountain of history and his name is lost
