I am at home today having the very saddest of sad days. This morning we woke to find Wilson had eaten an entire box of Snail & Slug pellets (dog safe = no such thing). We rushed him and Alfie (Jimi & Dees beagle) to the vet as they were both trembling. Alfie has responded well and will be home this afternoon.Wilson is deteriorating and his chances are being set at 50/50. We are not willing for him to suffer and will make the hard decision if required. I am surprised at how distressed I am, its as though all my unreleased grief over other things is pouring out of my face. Sobbing conversations with the Vet and Gaz, SMS to family, ridiculous conversation with my very understanding boss (must fix that when I see him), furious vacuuming and scrubbing of the mess outside, telling myself off for having such a toxic product stored where a dog can reach it (it was inside another container, but still he ate his way through). The vet bill is rapidly rising to near $1000. Multiple cups of tea later I am still a mess.
