I am at the point of second guessing the decision I made to become a Facebook participants. In the years since I joined Facebook, Facebook hasnt enhanced my friendship with anyone nor have I made any real friends except of the Facebook correspondent type, which I barely know anything about. My family and true friends are more face-to-face than Facebook. So, for the countless hours Ive spent posting comments and reading posted comments, what have I accomplished others gained or contributed? On Facebook, there are no Hudson, no intimacy. There are no faces, I ran real faces, no expressions, no gestures. There are emoticons like smiley faces, not face-to-face faces, happy eyes and happy HEARTS happy to see me surpass badly drawn electronic images, just like the old fashion the xxx oooh scribbled on the bottom of a hand written letter or the back of an envelope was far from warm and fuzzy. Nothing comforts or feels like the real thing, face-to-face, a warm smile and a happy heart. If you dont believe me, ask my family and my real friends who actually go out of their way to spend some face-to-face time with me. No Facebook posted picture, no emoticons or no elaborate written words or phrases can suppress loneliness like a real tender and warm, face-to-face hug. I think, somehow we forgot that. (Not, while you still can, go hug your mother. I wish I could hug my Mom.
