Riverside PD has a domestic violence line to assist people who are seeking resources to get out of bad situation. They will provide emergency food, shelter and also cell phones. The number is (951) 955-6100. They are open Monday through Friday 8 - 5 p.m. Any after-hours need you can contact 911 (if it is an act of domestic violence in process), or the non-emergency number (if the threat is not immediate) and they will also provide assistance. It is possible for them to get an EPO (Emergency Protection Order) or a TRO (Temporary Resistriction Order) at any time to help assist in protecting the abused. In the event that you encounter anyone who you suspect has been the victim of domestic abuse, call the police IMMEDIATELY and they will come out and access the information and take the necessary steps to protect the involved party. It is by this random act of kindness that indeed you might be instrumental in saving the life of an abused victim.
